Political Science PhD

Are you interested in a Political Science PhD?

I receive many emails from students interested in studying with me for their PhD.  If you are one of those students, please read this carefully.

  1. I only train political scientists.
Many would-be applicants work in environmental studies or environmental policy, broadly construed.  Potential applicants must commit to a PhD in political science.

  2. All admissions to the PhD program are centralized.
Admissions offers are made through departmental decisions rather than by individual faculty members.  To be clear: I cannot admit you to the PhD program.  For more information about the admissions process, please consult the Political Science department’s FAQ.

If you are interested in working with me, please first acquaint yourself with my research, as well as the application procedure.  You may then send me a CV and statement of research.  The statement of research should elaborate, to the extent possible, your dissertation project.  I will review your statement of research during the application process and consider the possibility of supervision, but this is only contingent upon admission to the program.
